Where is the start/finish?
Take a look at the course map for information on the start/finishing points. Our team members on the Registration Desk will be happy to point you in the right direction on the day.
Car parking prices?
- We are offering Car parking FREE of charge up until 11.30am
If you exceed this time you will then have to pay parking from the time you entered.
To ensure you have free parking please enter your car registration into the booking form.
If incorrect, we cannot be held responsible for for anyone who is late leaving or for any mistakes made. Parking cost is then down to the runner.
- If riding a motorcycle, please use the special motorcycle bay in the car park.
Is parking provided for a group travelling in a coach or minibus?
Parking is provided, but all coaches and minibuses must book and pay for the parking in advance. Please call the Moors Valley Information Point to make a booking on 01425 470721.
Where is the Run Desk located?
You can find the Run Registration Desk next to Moors Valleys Visitors Centre. This is easy to locate from the car parks, is on the Moors Valley maps and signposts around the park. This is where you will collect your race number and sign in for the race this will also be signposted.
What happens when I book online?
The online registration process will trigger an email to a member of the Run Team to process your entry and follow up with an email to confirm your order together with an info pack. This information is required so we know who is racing for prizes and in case of an emergency or you are taken ill on the course.
I received a PayPal confirmation but not a run confirmation, am I confirmed?
If you have received a PayPal confirmation from us you will be confirmed. Run confirmations are sent out a few weeks before the run with further details.
Can I defer my place?
Unfortunately we are unable to defer places.
Will photos of the event be available?
Yes, we’ll be taking photos at the finish line. Details of how to purchase your photos will be available after the run.
I received my information pack and entry form by email, but no number. When will I be given a number?
A “Race Numbers Collection point” will be situated in the Visitors Centre for pre-registered entries, ideally bring proof of payment this speed up receiving your numbers. If you do not have your payment confirmation you may be asked other information to identify who you are. If you are collecting several race numbers from family members or groups we will need to see each separate confirmation email or other information to identify each runner taking part so we can issue the correct race numbers allocated.
When will final details be sent to me?
Once week before the run you will be sent final details to the email address provided on booking.
Do you allow the use of earphones, iPods, MP3 Players etc. during the run?
We leave that entirely to the runners descretion. So long as you’re aware of what’s going on around you, then feel free to listen to whatever you like. After all, we’re well aware of how music can be a great motiviator in life!
Do I get a medal?
Yes every runner that finishes will receive a Moors Valley Run medal.
Can we run with Buggies/Strollers?
Unfortunately do to the course terrain buggies and strollers are not suitable for the course because of health and safety reasons.
What are Moors Valley’s opening times?
Moors Valley Country Park & Forest open at 8am and close 6pm.
The Visitors Centre (where you’ll find the Run Desk) and Seasons Restaurant is open from 9am to 4:30pm.
Can I register on the day?
Due to the amount of runners we cannot guarantee there will be spaces available on the day therefore this is not possible.
As stated in the terms and conditions when booking we do not offer refunds.
Where does the money from this run go?
The money raised from the Moors Valley Run goes entirely to the children’s charity Dorset Youth Marching Band. The Band is open to children of all ages abilities and backgrounds and support from the participants of events like this is what helps to keep the band there for future generations.
